DS Doris is a 2025 introduction from new hybridizer David Smith. It is a very dark red formal decorative.  BB size and does not fade in full sun garden. Very heat tolerant   It grows 4.5 feet tall in our garden. It has been on the court of honor many times during the process to get it to this point. It has 3 scores on the seedling bench evaluation of 90.267, 88.333, and 85.750. It also passed in 4 trial gardens with scores of 86.25, 91.25, 90.036, and 86.97. It won the 2024 Derrill W. Hart medal.
